Warren M. Johnson, 88, of Iola, Kansas, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Windsor Place Nursing Center in Iola.

Warren was born July 4, 1923, at Saunders County, Nebraska, the son of Swan A. and Dora T. (Nelson) Johnson. The family moved to a farm in the Moran area in 1925 from Nebraska.

On October 6, 1945, Warren married Myrtle G. Tharp and they farmed in the Moran area. He raised Hereford cattle and served on the Allen County Fair Board.

His wife of 66 years: Myrtle G. Johnson

2 Nephews: Larry Johnson & wife, Linda of Council Grove, Kansas and Steven Johnson & wife, Karen of Toledo, Oregon

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Malvin Johnson in 1950.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 16, 2012, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola, where the family will receive friends prior to the service.

BURIAL: Moran Cemetery, Moran, Kansas

MEMORIAL: Allen County 4-H Council
